What's new in Cinemondo?

Oh! Beautiful City was astounding,I'm pleased it's coming back in August!
It's amazing how America can be so multi-cultural etc yet the people really know so little about each others deep cultural, social, spiritual roots.
Perhaps it's because when every thing gets thrown into that 'melting pot'the individuality of each ingredient is lost slightly in assimilating to the new multi-cultural 'stew' lol!
You can see each ingredient and identify it, but it loses that ORIGINAL unique taste, smell and texture etc by taking on the new MASS WHOLE.
Cinemondo has a way of rewinding the process and taking EACH ingredient OUT of the 'melting pot' and letting the viewer RE-appreciate it's uniqueness and raw form. For people who have traveled much it's like revisiting old memories,or old photo-albums,it's great!Depending on the location,we often sit and laugh and say,"Hey,I remember going there." or,"Look,we saw that" etc etc.LOL!
And the sub-titles are great, because to hear the different languages is very especial. And,besides subtitles are good exercise for the brain-cells,while you're watching too, lol!

For viewers who cannot travel out of the melting-pot of America, for instance,Cinemondo brings each Nation, with all its qualities, and drops it in your lap, whilst also helping to dispel many 'self-interest'myths by educating the viewers locally about the rest of the planet!
That's a RARE and valuable treasure on a censored, demeaning and insulting corporate media.
Keep that global ball rolling in,CINEMONDO. Thanks,Merci,Grazie,Tusen Takk,Shukran,Nastrovia!

Just watched Beautiful City, which I recorded on DVR.
Unfortunately, my satelite lost the last five minutes of the signal,
and was I ever mad!!!

I did a seach for a rebroadcast, but did not see it listed, so I emailed LInkTV.
I got a personal message that said it will be on again in August.
Thank Goodness!!!

It's a heart warming sensitive love story, and I am looking forward to the rebroadcast in August.
I won't mind watching it again.

Just wanted to let LinkTV know that I think Cinemondo is great.
I have always enjoyed watching foriegn films, and have noticed
many are remade by Hollywood without the same effect.

Keep those great movies coming!!!
Thanks so much...

PS- Of course I have enjoyed many of LinkTVs other programs, but this is
a Cinemondo blog, so...

Glad you liked the film!

When you get a chance, take a look at the interview we did with the directors Colin Goh & Yen Yen Woo.

It's on the Cinemondo page: http://www.linktv.org/cinemondo

Hope to hear your thoughts.

Hello and thank you for your kind words!!

We believe strongly in the ability of the films we show on Link to enlighten our viewers in the most profound and poetic of ways... (even with subtitles:)

We are working on a really exciting new series which should begin airing later this year (07). More on that soon...

In the meantime, have you checked out our Cinemondo Specials page?

It features interviews we conducted with a few directors whose films are in Cinemondo.

Let us know what you think!!

Hi!

New to the forum but a long time viewer of LinkTV! Thank you for such amazing programming and fasinating movies! I agree with Grassroots regarding America's obsession for all things immediate and easy. Keep the subtitles coming!

Dear LINKTV,Hey!Just because no-one is posting here, don't think we are not enjoying Cinemondo.Far from it....
It's so easy to forget, inside the USA,that the rest of the world/or the universe exists, and starve oneself of Global vision and variety, which limits and possibly stagnates the mind. And,many people don't seem to have the time, interest OR concentration for subtitles these days.Patience is not a virtue in America, generally LOL!
'Cinemondo' is educational, cultural and fun! And,makes one realise that at the end of the day,we are all NOT so different from each other. If Americans never ever get to leave their country(which many don't),Cinemondo is part of a media that brings the rest of the world TO THEM,on their doorstep! Untouched!Uncensored!
Thankyou,Tusen Takk,Merci,Grazie,Shukran! lol!
