Global Mobile brings together eight international award-winning filmmakers, selected for their innovative visual talents and interest in creating for this new format, to create a short films within the broad parameters of a single theme – FOOD – with the intention that the directors will interpret this theme within their own cultural context as broadly or narrowly as they wish. A celebration of food; an inquiry into farming practices; an examination of food scarcity; the obesity epidemic, the politics of genetically modified "GM" food, etc... the challenge is to tell a story in a compelling manner in under three minutes for the third screen.
