Smart, beautiful and popular, Chloe appears to have it all. Behind closed doors, however, she struggles with the psychological and physical effects of an eating disorder. Written by 17-year-old Katrina Garcia from Miami, Florida, A Memoir to My Former Self examines body image by looking at self esteem, peer pressure, identity, and friendship. It is the result of an annual, nation-wide writing contest for teens, hosted by Scenarios USA, a non-profit organization that uses writing and filmmaking to foster youth leadership, advocacy and, self-expression in teens.
